Portraits of Artist Delaine Le Bas

Delaine Le Bas is a British Romany Artist whose installations have been exhibited internationally. Her work explores intolerance, misrepresentation, displacement and homelessness which are politically, culturally and socially affecting many in the world today.

Delaine’s work highlights the disturbing stories affecting Gypsies throughout the UK and Europe.

She works in mixed media – incorporating photography, film and archival material alongside textiles and costumes hand printed and embroidered by the artist.

These portraits were commissioned by Phoenix Arts Centre in Brighton to accompany the exhibition Local Name: Unknown…Gypsies? which ran in April-May 2014.
