“Many Moroccan’s confuse religion and tradition and don’t ask themselves why they are doing something.”
In May 2009 I spent some time in Fes, Morocco. I was introduced to three young Moroccan men who were typical of moden ‘twenty-somethings’ in Morocco. University educated, living in the culturally rich city of Fes, Muslims and very connected to Western values and influences. The sons of a traditional generation who are seeking to understand how their religion and these traditions play a role in their lives. Searching the past they know to align it with an uncertain, but exciting future.
