I had been drawn to the old stoic looking kitchen dresser in the Regency Town House since first taking a recce of the building as a potential exhibition space for the New Skin project. I knew I wanted it to feature and hold some of the photographs from the collection. It seemed like a perfect marriage between form and function, photos and presentation. As the installations developed within the domestic setting, so did the concept of using the dresser for it’s intended use – to store crockery on. I therefore chose some of the more quirky, light hearted photographs to imprint on crockery & tea towels for displaying on the kitchen dresser.
